I was just turned on to this site by a colleague. Nicely done. I, too, am a fan of all things Greek, having traveled there for years since 1972. Although I do not speak the language, I still enjoy the memories, as vivid as today of my many exploits. One of many highlights is my race with my son and daughter on the track at Olympia. I still have our picture on my desk at school. I will follow your posts with satisfaction.

Interesting, this idea of the dangers of persuasive speech minus any moral compass. It hearkens images of open mouthed fishes waiting for a spoon-fed sermon.

Most believers of political rhetoric we have heard since the 1950s seem to fall into this category, especially those who have been sold an all-in-one religious, moral, political guide, prepackaged and handed down, dictated by leaders who claim to be in the know.

When will we quit feeding on hand-me-down perspectives and question, think, examine for ourselves? History and future generations will judge us. Meanwhile, texts and truths await us.

Yes - see other posts in the categories Drama - Health and Healing - where we explore the connections between drama and all art and healing.
Sports can certainly be a very different experience at different times, in different cultures and even vary from sport to sport. I was interested more in the focused intensity of the crowd at the moment that anything else. This can happen in a baseball game, a boxing match or a tennis game, three very different experiences in so many ways.

How different sports effect the psyche is even another line of inquiry. Do tennis fans experience the same kinds of release as football fans. And is there a point where passions stop being released and start being stimulated anew.

Thanks for your stimulating thought and please spread the word about Eye of Zeus and the wonders and uses of Ancient Greece
